Hall switch sensors such as the Infineon TLE4989C are often used to measure the speed or phase of a ferromagnetic target wheel, or a magnetic encoder wheel. It is very suitable for camshaft applications (CAM), and in order to achieve specific performance in the application, the customer can program specific values of the EEPROM in the sensor based on the specific conditions of the target application.
The data transmission format of this type of sensor is as follows:
Its format is quite different from that of the SPI protocol, and the voltage level is also different, so an adapter module is needed to convert the signal.
The conversion module can also realize functions such as TPO threshold programming, dynamic self-calibration, and edge testing of the sensor chip.
TLE49xx conversion module – SG400
The actual picture of the conversion module is shown in the figure above. The signal input end of the conversion module is four 2.0 pitch plugs corresponding to the SG400 standard wiring harness, each plug corresponds to a channel, and each channel works independently; a 12V/DC power input interface is used to power the conversion module; the output interface uses a 24PIN 2.54 pitch male (MALE) socket to output the VDD required signal and the input sensor return signal (Q).
Signal input interface description
The signal input interface of the conversion module adopts MOLEX 2.0 pitch 20PIN 87831-2020, which can be connected with the standard wiring harness of the SG400 burner. The four output interfaces of the SG400 burner correspond to the four input interfaces of the conversion module.
Signal output interface description
The output interface of the conversion module uses a 2.54 pitch 24PIN 2.54 pitch male socket. The conversion module has a matching standard wiring harness to connect it.
Connection diagram
When the conversion module is working, you need to use the standard wiring harness delivered with the SG400 programmer to connect the input interface of the conversion module to the corresponding channel of the SG400 programmer. Use the 24PIN programming wiring harness delivered with the kit to connect the output interface to the target sensor.
Before connecting the SG400 programmer and the conversion module, please make sure that both devices are powered off to ensure the safety of the connection. Please follow the steps below to connect:
Use the programming cable to correctly connect the SG400 programmer and the conversion module.
Power on the SG400 programmer and wait for the programmer to start up and run normally.
Supply power to the conversion module.
*This sequence of steps helps prevent equipment damage or other electrical safety issues caused by incorrect operation.
